For Debi - a closeup of the feather and fan linen baby blanket, in its on the needles, unrelaxed state. I'm having a tough time measuring its width because it's a bit bunched on the needles and will relax more after washing - I'm aiming for a 30x40 blanket, I'm not sure it will be that wide, though!

  1. Thanks Catherine! It's gorgeous! You know, it's funny, pure cotton hurts my wrists something fierce but no complaints with the linen at all. I admit, BLACK, LACEWEIGHT and COMPLICATED LACE was probably more than I should have bitten off but now that I've lived to tell the tale, I LOVE the finished product! The linen gets all soft yet stays a bit wrinkled...you do know you *have* to machine wash and dry it to really get it to it's durable, beautiful self, right? I don't know why mine shed like it did, I'm telling you that stuff is still everywhere! It must be in my vents and on my clothes cause I've mopped my bathroom floor 3 times since I finished the shawl and there is still tiny black hairs all over it!!

I can't wait to see your shawl, what pattern are you using? Kiri would be lovely and pretty "auto pilot" once you get into the pattern.

  2. I haven't decided what pattern I'll use, though Kiri is in the running - I have to check the yardage requirements. I'm going to finish the blanket before I start it, so I'm not letting myself think about it too much yet!
