That's the plan for the day. I've been awake since 3:30, when a certain black cat decided to throw a love fest - purring, head-butting me, kneading me with her paws - and in my sleepy condition I thought, "Oh, what a sweet girl!" and petted her, thinking she'd settle down. She didn't settle down. It finally dawned on me that this wasn't love, it was "Get the hell out of bed, my DISH is EMPTY!!!" I staggered to the kitchen: her dish was empty. I filled it, she hunkered in front of it, chowing down like she hadn't eaten in a week, and is ignoring me as usual. But I've been awake since 3:30. Damn cat.
My voice is almost back - not completely, but much better than yesterday when it was nothing but crackles and squeaks. I'm hoping lots of rooibos tea and resting it will help. I'm alternating knitting projects, the laptop sweater and the top-down cardigan. Stockinette is so good for stress. I'd take a picture but it's quite uninteresting right now - it's a wad of beige stockinette. Whoo-hoo. The laptop sweater isn't much more interesting, I've finished the top ribbing and am in the seed stitch section. Yee-ha.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous - right now it's 62 degrees and sunny. The windows are open, I can hear the pond gurgling. I have an urge to drag out cookbooks and pattern books and just mess around and be domestic.
