I had so much to blog this morning, but Blogger had a headache. You know how the mood just goes away? I can't remember what I was so excited about.
I promise, as Gawd is Mah Witnuss, I'm gonna line up all my nifty little stitch markers (including the drop-dread ones) for a photo shoot later, but because it is getting dark and alas, I have no patio furniture even if I still had light, I can't promise much for color accuracy.
I saw that Wendy has both the blahs and hand/wrist pain. I feel your pain, sister. My right hand has been resting since Sunday, as much as a right-handed person can rest a right hand, because between knitting and beading and then mousing at work (click on .tif file, view, save, skip or print....) my 11,000 page document production on CD, my right arm is ready to fall off. I switched to left handed mousing with a right handed mouse at the office - now that's an experience. I'm the queen of the left click, but my left hand has major trouble with the whole "right click with my middle finger, left click with the index finger" concept. (Before you ask, my hands are too small and stubby to enlist other fingers in this job. I tried, they were even less qualified.) It's getting easier, but it does slow me down.
Neither knitting or beading caused the problem, I've done both off and on for decades before this problem surfaced at the office, and can still do both those crafts without making it worse. I have great economy of movement as a knitter and unless I use a non-stretchy yarn I never feel a twinge, beading doesn't use the exact same muscle set as mousing either, but when the arm is already tired I'm afraid that anything will further annoy it, so I'm giving the right arm all the rest I can.
It's the Evil Mouse. I swear it is - I have been knitting since I was about 7, crocheting since 6, using a keyboard since, oh, 16, and it wasn't until I had to do work things that required intensive mousing motions all day that I felt even a twinge. I switched to a trackball and a lower wrist angle at my last job, that helped. I may have to petition for one at my current employer.
I nearly wrote "new employer" and I've been there over a year now. Am I having Adjustment Issues?
