It's already overcast outside and there's a bit of a breeze out of the South, and Charley is still far away. It'll be raining by noon and get worse as the afternoon and evening goes on - this is going to be quite something. I'm going to run around the corner to the supermarket and see if they've restocked D batteries - I would like to have both camping lanterns to read and knit by later, and the big one's batteries are dead. I couldn't find Ds at Target at lunch yesterday. Then I guess I'll do housework and laundry and get a jump on the weekend chores while there's 'lectricity. I do not expect to have electricity later, I will be very pleasantly surprised if I do.

I am not a "panic and stockpile canned goods and board up the windows!" storm preparation nut, but when I walked the dog this morning I was somewhat aghast at how many neighbors haven't even closed their patio umbrellas yet, and have left lightweight things that will easily go airborne sitting around. Hellooo...?
