I joined the new Southern Knit Bloggers ring and tried to add the code to my site, and it did something funky that distorted the entire format. I am HTML-challenged so I couldn't see what did it, I will have to figure it out when I have some time. That would not be now.
Another weekend bites the dust, but at least I have an assembled dresser, clean fish bowl and pond filter, empty hamper, clean catboxes, new shoes, new books, a check to get my car fixed, and less cat hair polluting my environment. "No cat hair polluting my environment" is not a realistic goal. They live here. Not a bad weekend, and it included ample knitting time today, because I was just freaking tired and didn't want to do anything else. The Manos Lo Tech Sweat's back is a few inches bigger, and a couple of rows were crocheted on the All Seasons Shawl. The shawl is perfect for morning coffee time, I can put it down mid-row - another one of the advantages of crocheting. Put-down-able projects are a beautiful thing.
My casual inventory of my yarn stash appalled and yet challenged me - as did the note in today's bulletin that the Fall Festival craft table is specifically LOOKING for knitted and crocheted items this year. No problem! I need to apply myself to baby items and other festival friendly things. Yep, I know when I'm being called - or at least my yarn is being called. I'm also thinking at this very moment that maybe a cool stocked knitting bag would be good for the silent auction - some choice yarn from the stash, attractively arranged with a good learn to knit book and needles, stitch markers, tape measure, etc. Yes, that would be a fun small auction item. Hmmm.... I know that the festival draws tons of young people and I'm sure the trendiness of fiber pursuits has not escaped them, and they can't afford to/don't want to bid on the stuff their parents want. Hmmm.... Maybe a knitting AND crochet, a book and yarn and hooks and needles.... I'm liking that idea.
