Uh-oh, a whole new release of Blogger coming tomorrow - if we all disappear for a day, that's why.
I finished the latest large crocheted critter blanket, and I think it's time to pack up a bunch and send them on their way. There may be two boxes' worth by the time I'm done. I'm still enjoying making them, and somehow I'm not bored at all by their utterly boring simplicity. They calm me.
I've edited out the work rant portion of this entry - not that I care who reads it, but it's inappropriate for a crafts blog. I'm trying to stay on topic more, or at least stick to non-bitchy ramblings.
Last night I stopped at Lowe's garden center on the way home and bought three mandevilla vines, three confederate jasmine, and a bunch of purslane to put around the pond. I tried to buy new tubing and hose clamps for the pond but they were, of course, out of stock on the size I needed. Pondmarket will be getting an order from me this morning, before I head out into the yard to plant things and clean the pond filter yet again.
Girlchild is thinking of heading home later, so she has a day to settle in between driving back and unpacking and the start of summer school classes. I know tomorrow's Mother's Day but I don't care - I have had Mother's Week all week, eating dinner with the kids and hanging out more than we have in months. It was nice, but it's also nice that we can all go back to our normal lives. Shopping was a complete bust while she was here, neither of us found a damn thing despite diligent effort. I think I'll resort to some online shopping later. Maybe tonight if I have the energy I'll finally cast on that purple Trinity Stitch shawl.
