Today at Home Depot I confirmed that the sink I ordered really will fit nicely and I still like it, so I did not rethink the sink. Instead I brought it home, along with the new garbage disposal and a really cool faucet. (BTW, Home Depot's price was nowhere near as high as the price on the Kohler site.) I still need a dishwasher and cabinet hardware, but that'll keep for a couple of weeks. I'm actually getting a tax refund this year, much to my surprise and for a reason nobody should have to experience. The loss of my husband's income, reduced as it was while he was on disability, obviously means I have to rethink my deductions.

Meanwhile, I promised photos - lots of 'em. My apologies to those on slow dial-up connections.

First, the garden:
Baby tomatoes:

I think these are baby cowhorn peppers, their tag blew away in the days of wind:

If only I could upload the smell of confederate jasmine in bloom.

And here's the yard after the Yard Boys worked their magic, and before sod:

After Home Depot and Target I impulsively stopped in JoAnn's. This addiction to Homespun is getting out of control. I'm cranking out critter blankets mostly because I'm enjoying working with this yarn so much - I love the way simple garter stitch looks so rich, and I love the instant gratification of a quick, easy project. There is something so relaxing about making these diagonal garter stitch blankets - I can turn on the TV, pick up my knitting, and zone out for an hour. I have no desire to take on anything more challenging right now, this is just my speed. Pictures, pictures:

I color-corrected the Coral Gables to try to capture the shading of pinks and oranges - it's fairly close but much lovelier in person. It glows in the sunlight. When I finally redecorate an actual guest room I think a throw in this color would be a delightful shot of color on the foot of a bed or over a chair.

So I did say I stopped in at JoAnn's - you don't think I walked out empty-handed, do you?

This color is called Disco - it's purple, black and turquoise, and I can't wait to see how it knits up.

And because my addiction to mango and coral colors hasn't quite run its course:

This color is Carribbean - it has a touch of mango in it, along with a redder-pink and a white that is not quite pure white, but has a very faint pink tone.

Okay, break's over, time to get back to household chores.
