Kitchen Cabinet people called today - delivery date: June 1. That seems far off and frighteningly close at the same time. I have so much to do to get ready, and I'll be in Miami the end of the month, and May is filling up too.

I was so busy at work this week I never got a chance to order sod - the yard is ready, the Yard Boys are willing and able, I'm holding up the progress. Tomorrow I shall Order Sod for delivery Monday or whenever they can get it here.

I'm almost finished reading Knitting into the Mystery. It is a very fast read and a pleasant book. You certainly don't need to buy it to explore the concept of a shawl knitting ministry - the website has all the information you really need. The book is more inspiration than information, but the inspiration is good stuff, gently spiritual and carefully focused.

Last night I got sucked into doing too many other things - tonight I will work on the latest critter blanket. This one is in "Coral Gables" - a lovely mango-ish Homespun color. I'm making this one bigger too - I made only one in the 18 inch size and it looked awfully dinky when I compared it to my big fat cats. All the rest are 24 inches or larger - animals like to scrunch their blankies up into lumpy nests, and an 18 inch square isn't going to scrunch well for anything but an undernourished kitten. So the purple blankie is the puny kitten square, the others will be bigger and suitable for full grown cats with feline middle-aged spread.

Speaking of middle-aged spread, beach weather is right around the corner for me and I'm So Not Ready! I need to get my ass in gear and rev up the exercise and diet another notch. The summer is shaping up to be a lot of short trips to places near the water, and though I live a mere 40 minutes from the beach, I haven't wiggled my toes in the sand in years. This is the year to correct the salt and sand deficiency in my diet.
