Not much knitting action around the Bossy Dog House. Bardot is still in pieces. I'm very, very tired. I made it to my haircut appt. tonight though. Go me.
Cabinet Measuring Guy called this afternoon to set the "appointment" - he said "We'll be in your area between 10 and 4 tomorrow." Dude, that's not an appointment, that's WEDNESDAY. I cannot sit here all day - well, I could probably bring work home and swing it, but I refuse to because that's not what an appointment is. So we compromised - they'll give me a half hour heads-up that they are on their way. I can be home in 15 minutes. I'm still shaking my head at a six hour "appointment" window. Puh-leeze, who puts up with that shit? And - Why? If the cable guy and the a/c guy and the phone guy can make an appointment and show up right on time, I'm pretty sure the Cabinet Measuring Dudes could too.
The Bossy One goes for his haircut tomorrow - not a moment too soon. I haven't told a Murphy story in a while, so here's the latest - he recognizes friends' cars when they turn onto the street. This isn't my imagination, it's been noticed by other people too. I could understand his recognizing MY car - my golden knew the sound of our cars vs. the others in the neighborhood, but Murphy remembers friends' vehicles even when they visit infrequently. I don't know how he does it - we're not talking about distinctive vehicles or a lightly traveled street. My friend L's pickup truck looks and sounds like several others that frequent the neighborhood, but she turned onto the street yesterday and Murphy went bananas - he started dancing and squeaking the minute he saw/heard her truck, I knew she was here before she'd gone around the circle and pulled into my driveway. My neighbors up the street have two little girls he adores, (he's crazy about the parents too) and he can identify their cars instantly - he starts nagging to go for a walk up the street to visit with them. I don't need a working doorbell, I have something much better.
Very tired. Going to bed very early.
