What's in it for me?
Alley Cat! You're a wheelin' & dealin' kind of cat
who not only has the unique ability to take
things in stride, but let it be known you're
smarter than you look.

What kind of cat are you?

Yep, I can live with that, and the cat in the photo reminds me of Boris, as does the description. Do we become like our pets, our pets like us, or do we somehow pick pets who reflect our personalities? And if any of the above is true, how did I end up with this dog ordering me around?

Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. After some thought, I've decided I'm giving up yarn buying for Lent, as well as working on adopting some positive habits, physical, spiritual, knitting and non-knitting related. It'll be hard to stay away from online yarn and the NSLYS, but yarn-buying is an escape mechanism for me and it's time to pull the plug on some of my escape mechanisms. (Not all of them, because how dull would THAT be?) Lent is supposed to change you, and I think it's a good time to start my next round of personal change.

And on that note, I'm off to finish the second Bardot sleeve before the dog tells me it's time to exercise and then get myself together and head off to work. It's a rainy, dreary day, I'm wiped out from the past couple of days' work, and I want to stay in bed and knit all day, but that won't be happening.
