It's raining, it's pouring, the cats are all snoring.... We had a monsoon here this morning as a new "cold front" came through, and it rained out any ambition to do Murphy's picture with Santa. So here's a plain old picture, taken this morning while he's clean and relatively well-brushed and looking like a Noble Little Beast:

and the re-knitted Kureyon scarf for girlchild, with the bit of acid green/yellow in these skeins, and a hammy cat getting into the picture:

Another obligatory cat photo, more Boris the Love Sponge, who always looks like he's thinking, "Huh?" Boychild used to call him Boris Gump: "Ah'm not a smart cat...." but he is the most loving cat I've ever known, and has the most amazing, very loud trilling purr. which can be started just by mentioning his name. :

I cast on for a French Market Bag this morning - I wanted to do the round bottom on double points, but much to my surprise (because it seems like I own a zillion dpns) I didn't have a set of 5 in size 9. I'm using one strand of Cascade 220 on a size 9 needle - though the pattern calls for a 7, that seems too small for felting Cascade 220, so I'm making an executive decision here. The flat bottom of the bag is like a foot of garter stitch, and though I am the easy knitting queen, even I think this is boring. I'm about halfway through it. zzzzz....

Still no Christmas tree. Now that the monsoon appears to have let up a bit, I've put in a call to Boy and his Truck. Maybe tonight there will be Tree.
