I'm not a dog owner, but can appreciate the concern...I used to have outdoor cats, and after one was attacked and killed by a shepherd-mix (my back yard), that did it. They're all indoor kitties now. I have ha...Have you considered a harness for walks? I have harnesses for both of my small dogs and they do fine with them. As a matter of fact I really think the harness saved my smaller dog's life. We were walking in our own yard when the neighbor's boxer got loose and ran for my 3.5 lb yorkie. When ...Ooo, I'm just as scared of that as you are. When I first adopted Maggie, she got away from me a couple of times because I couldn't hold on to the leash well enough.
